Brady Campaign Againt Gun Ownership

Filed under: 2nd Amendment, Guns, politics — Doug @ 12:22

It is completely understandable that when facts do not backup your claim that you should avoid mentioning the facts. Right now the Brady Campaign is seeding a video with a VT survivor talking about the non-existent “gun show loop-hole.”

He talks about all the people who do bad things with guns from gun shows. This is not the case. Most of the time crimes are committed stolen guns or guns that were purchased legally at one time. The fact is that if you take away Virginia’s law that allows undocumented sales between two Virginia residents it will not stop the spread of illegal guns. The Brady campaign continues to attack the tool because they don’t like guns. They could care less about why. Once they start accepting the fact that gun violence is a problem that can only be tackled by fixing the human element we may have less of a problem. Bad people will continue to get guns no matter how many laws you make an how many liberties you strip from me.

Read my lips, NO GUN LAW WILL EVER HELP STOP GUN CRIMES. In fact, there is no such thing as a gun crime in my opinion. It doesn’t matter how I murder someone, I still committed murder. Armed robbery, be it committed with a handgun, a knife or a baseball bat, it’s still armed robbery!

Now the Brady Campaign has stopped California residents from being able to mail order handgun ammo. Every time we strip away the rights of the individual, we strengthen the will and power of the enemies of freedom.

Will Sessoms, enjoy the rest of your run as Mayor…

Filed under: 2nd Amendment, Guns, politics — Doug @ 15:38

Because when it’s time for the next election we WILL unseat you.  It has come to my attention that the Virginia Beach City Mayor, Will Sessoms Jr., is a member of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s, “Mayors Against Illegal Guns .” (MAIG)

For those of you who don’t know, Michael Bloomberg is about as anti-second amendment as you can get.  The MAIG is a coalition of Mayors from around the country that want to kill or second amendment.  A few of their key issues involve;

  • Microstamping of ammo
  • Repealing the Tiahrt Amendment, which blocks access to weapons trace data for any purpose other than investigating a crime
  • The “Gun Show Loop-hole,” which is a lie by the way…..

These issues and others show their true goal which is the restriction of our freedoms.  Merely being associated with Bloomberg is a bad idea because he is the most anti-gun Mayor in the country.  I will admit that I voted for this guy and am beginning to regret it….

States rights when applied to the second amendment

Filed under: 2nd Amendment, Guns, politics — Doug @ 19:43

I was listening to last night’s Gun Nuts Radio when the concept of preemption came up.  Preemption is an interesting concept that has a good and a bad.  I would love preemption applied to a basic understanding but I would be concerned for the Federal Government to go too far with it.  If we allow the federal government to pass preemption with guns then what is the restriction on them to step on the tenth amendment everywhere else.  Preemption on a state by state basis is good and it should be encouraged to make it easier for citizens in a state to know they are within the law while traversing the state but I don’t even like to give the government too much power.  Even when that power appears to be good.

Who knew???

Apparently Ken Cuccinelli is a big fan of “states’ rights.”  This is something that he has never hid from the public.  Unfortunately, Stephen Shannon doesn’t think this is a good position to have.

The Washington Post article called, “Shannon accuses Cuccinelli of “states’ rights” stance” and shows us why Cuccinelli is the best man for the job.

Ken Cuccinelli has been a big supporter of the Commonwealth of VA when it comes to standing up the Washington, D.C.

Shannon’s argument is that because the 10th amendment has been used for opposing things like integration and slavery, Cuccinelli is planning on fighting things like that.  That is just loony.  Shannon is defaulting back to the typical loser last minute  mud slinging.  It doesn’t even make sense.  He doesn’t give any logic to his argument either.  He actually wants us to just take anything the Feds say.

That is just nuts…

My birthday makes Obama cry….

Filed under: 2nd Amendment, Guns, Me, life — Doug @ 23:43

While my birthday is still almost a month away, my dad and I were at the Norfolk gun show yesterday and he decided that I didn’t need to wait to get my new carry gun.  While I filled out the background check form and did the purchasing, my father paid for it.  I now present….my Sig Sauer P220

Mew Sig

So, my dad and I took it to the range and had a good amount of fun.  Now I just need to buy some holsters…

Danaldi Moore wins again and sets a legal precedent for the Waterside Mall

Filed under: 2nd Amendment, Guns, politics — Doug @ 15:59

I am posting this word for word from the VCDL VA-Alert as there is no page on the VCDL site about this right now.  I will post a link to the VCDL page when one is posted.

Big Win for Gun Owners!  2/10/09

I just got the word – Danladi Moore, who was arrested for trespass by a Norfolk police officer last August while Danladi was lawfully open carrying at Norfolk’s Waterside Mall, has just won his case in court!

The judge told the Norfolk City Attorney that because of the City’s financial interest in the mall, the mall is considered PUBLIC property and Danladi was therefore NOT trespassing.  All charges are to be dropped.

Well, well – another most deserved lesson to City Attorney Bernard Pishko on not harassing law-abiding gun owners.

Pishko was hell-bent on prosecuting Danladi Moore to teach him a lesson because Danladi had challenged Norfolk’s authority in a previous harassment case and won a $10,000 settlement.

Hopefully Dan can now sue the pants off Norfolk AGAIN!

I wonder how much this latest blunder is going to cost Norfolk?  Perhaps another zero on the end of the previous settlement?

Go get ‘em, Danladi!  ;-)

We are attempting to get the transcript of the ruling as it could have much bigger implications for other such government-owned venues across the state.

The vote is scheduled for Monday. Please call your Senators and urge them to block this from happening!

If you are in Virginia, please call Senator Webb and Senator Warner. We all hoped that Warner would not stick to the party line and do what was right. This is his test!

VCDL Lobby Day in Richmond

Filed under: 2nd Amendment, Guns, politics — Doug @ 00:36

Glad to see that even with my absence the VCDL was able to get a few things done….

I am happy to see that there were about 600 people who, unlike me, had the balls to ask off for work today…

“The Capitol Police said that there were easily 500 gun owners at the first VCDL rally at the General Assembly today!  Oh, and there was a grand total of TWO anti-gun protesters there today, neither one looking very happy.”

Nice to see the other side made an appearence.

Check out the link for the main article and the decent news coverage.
